    Become a Certified Nurse Aide in a Long Term Care Facility (CNA). Develop the skills necessary to care competently for the predominately geriatric client. Upon successful completion of the 90-hour course (50 hours classroom and 40 hours clinical), you will be eligible to take the New Jersey State Nurse Aide in Long Term Care Facility Exam. Meridian will provide you with your textbook and physical. You will be required to pay for your, uniform, and certification. According to the New Jersey Department of Health, CNA candidates do not need a high school diploma to become licensed.

    If you are certified CNA with an active license from New Jersey and want to become a CHHA, then take the conversion class. The conversion course focuses on personal care services in the home setting, cultural diversity, and foundations for a safe client environment, nutrition, housekeeping, concepts of home care and caring for the aged ill client. In addition, the CNA will learn how to administer care to hospice clients and their families in their home.     Starting in 1958, the MCVSD Practical Nursing Program has graduated over 4,100 students.

    For the past five years in a row the Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rate has remained at 100%.

    This course offers academic studies and clinical experience to prepare students to meet the state requirements for licensure as a practical nurse in New Jersey. It  is approved by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing and the New Jersey Department of Education and accredited by Middle States. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX in New Jersey.
