This enriching, optional, summer course, driven by student interest, explores narrative writing, poetry, memoir, children's literature, myths and fables, satire, and drama.     Arduino Robot Programming

    Students learn how to program Arduino microprocessors at an entry level to control lights, motors, and other output components. Students will then program small robots while learning simple electronics at an entry level and incorporating Arduino microcontroller programming to robots. Utilizing their Arduino programming skills, students then compete against each other to test out their new skills at the end of the course. PREREQUISITES: Student must be in grades 7th or 8th.     CO2 Car Design & Race

    9am-2pm (Location: High Technology High School)
    Design, build, and test your own CO2 dragster race car and race against your peers on a race track located at High Technology High School. Learn how aerodynamics and compressed air can propel your race car to reach 60 miles per hour while utilizing 3D modeling software and provided parts. Each student will get to keep their designs and dragster cars after the last day of class. PREREQUISITES: the willingness to develop skills, and preparedness to race. A digital jump / flash drive or cloud-based storage is suggested, but not required, in order to save documents.
