Topics include: the healthcare delivery system, collection of materials and equipment, venipuncture and capillary techniques, and medical/legal/ ethical implications of blood collection. Practices will include: CDC recommendations for proper training and use of personal protective equipment PPE to protect the student from Covid-19. Textbook not included in cost of course. Upon successful completion of the course, students may be recommended for a one week optional internship at CentraState Hospital on mutually agreed upon dates from 7:00 am-3:00 pm Monday and 5:00 am-3:00 pm Tuesday-Friday within 6 months of completing this course.
