This 315-hour apprenticeship program focuses on operations in sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater treatment to control flow and processing of sewage. Topics that will be covered include: monitoring control panels, adjusting valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate sewage flow, observing variation in operating conditions and interpreting meter and gauge readings, and test results to determine load requirements, starting and stopping pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration and sludge digestion processes. Other mechanical duties covered as assigned.
