Description

This course is a more in depth study of application and techniques of SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) or stick welding, welding pipe and pipe joints, oxyacetylene and plasma cutting. Other topics are GMAW (gas metal arc welding) or MIG welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding) or TIG welding of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Safety procedures are included in all units of instruction. Information on AWS (American Welding Society) membership and certificate of completion will be given to those who successfully complete 80% of the course. Books, supplies, and personal safety equipment not included in tuition. Enrollment limited to 6 students.
